Soules Company

Jim Soules formed Soules Company in 2007 to continue innovative green residential and community development.  In 1996 Jim founded and until 2007 was a Principal with The Cottage Company, LLC a Seattle-based residential development company focused on building ‘pocket neighborhoods’ of detached single-family homes, cottages and compact homes as infill in existing suburban neighborhoods.  Jim moved back to California in 2008 and as Manager of Keller Court LLC is proposing a pocket neighborhood in Petaluma, California – KELLER COURT COMMONS.

The proposed Keller Court Commons is 8 two-bedroom (1,300 to 1,500 SF) detached compact homes clustered around a u-shaped commonly owned landscaped courtyard.  The courtyard concept promotes community and is now nationally known as “pocket neighborhoods” – a term coined by Jim’s projects. The 1.66 acre site is at the corner of Keller and West Streets, Petaluma, California. Each home will be on a separate lot with a private front yard and a usable covered front porch oriented to the views of Sonoma Mountain to the East.  Assigned garages and unassigned open parking will be located on an alley-like private drive.  A private community building will be located on the east side of the courtyard. The zoning is R2 Residential and per the Hillside Ordinance the site can accommodate 11 dwellings.  At this time no sales prices are known. If interested please email to be put on the interest list.
